Raised in the wilds of rural Ontario, Canada, Max spent my youth with one foot in nature and the other in art. At an early age he was encouraged by his mother and older brother to seriously pursue art, so he began drawing and never quit. Drawing has been Max's constant companion, his true voice in the good times and his most secure refuge in the bad. Inspired by classic Disney and Studio Ghibli films he decided to pursue formal art education in traditional hand drawn animation, ultimately earning a bachelors degree in the field from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. The focus of Max's work has touched everything from character and location design, animation, illustration and comics, ranging from the sensible to the insane. Aside from drawing, some of his other passions include (in no specific order) painting, poetry, comics, films, music, video games, food, nature, science, history, philosophy, psychology, mythology, religion, meditation, magick and yoga. He now lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with his loving wife and cat, working as a professorial artist mostly in the animation industry.
